Power BI Developer – Insights Full Time Permanent

We have an exciting opportunity for a Power BI Developer to join our business, reporting to the Group Insight Controller

Job Title: Power BI Developer

Main purpose of role:

• Lead the development of Power BI full life cycle reporting & dashboards for both new and existing products & services.
• Collaborate with fellow team members to implement the continuous development of Power BI reporting
• Training of Power BI end users across the Acosta Europe businesses

Responsibilities:

• Lead the development & implementation of Power BI reporting across the Acosta Europe business
• Ownership of Power BI training across the business, ensuring all key users are operating at the required level
• Contribute to the development of new products & services, with ownership for any reporting required within Power BI
• Contribute to the successful delivery of team commitments, including testing tasks as required
• Collaborate with fellow team members on application architecture and design to ensure that the approaches and technologies applied to current implementation work are sound and fit for purpose
• Analysing requirements and working with the product owner to ensure that stories exhibit INVEST characteristics
• Contribute to the estimation of user stories as part of release and iteration planning activities
• Fully participate in iteration retrospectives and collaborate with fellow team members to ensure that the team inspect and adapt and continuously improve performance
• Contribute to departmental level efforts to analyse and improve our agreed delivery process and practices
• Maintaining existing reports and data models, working to fully maximise the utility of data within the company
• Being hands-on in the full life-cycle delivery of reports, dashboards and data feeds
• Being pro-active in identifying opportunities for data quality improvements
• Liaising with stakeholders and managing relationships with them and the users of the data
• Contribute to project delivery and provide best practice guidance by working with the development team
• Utilise data from multiple sources, internal and external, to ensure the company has a competitive edge in the market

Relevant Skills and Experience

Core:

• 3-5 years of relevant work experience (proven track record) in leading the development & implementation of Power BI full life cycle reporting.
• Experienced with Power BI plus DAX & MDX
• Experience with Azure
• Strong understanding of Data Warehouse modelling and terminology
• Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and analytical skills
• Positive proactive attitude, willing to turn their hand to any problem, and willing to work things out when they fall outside their area of direct expertise.
• Eager to work as a member of a team and pitch in to ensure the team succeeds with its commitments.
• Experience of working as a member of an agile team and familiar with agile planning and estimation techniques. A good understanding of the fundamental rationale for employing an agile approach
• Experience of task management using Jira or similar ALM system
